As libraries change their service priorities, they frequently need to change or expand their facilities. Cheryl is an experienced building consultant, developing library building programs for libraries and providing advice on reorganizing existing space.

- Library Space Planning Guide assembled by Mary Louise Jensen for the Connecticut State Library. Used in conjunction with her Library Space Planning Guide Worksheet . A downloadable Excel spreadsheet that provides unit quantities for various resources (volumes, seats, etc.) based on your library's service population. It also calculates the assignable and non-assignable space requirements.
- LEED Certification Guidelines for Green Buildings In the United States and in a number of other countries around the world, LEED certification is the recognized standard for measuring building sustainability.
- Libris Design Project Manager, Linda Demmers has created a simple Excel spreadsheet that can be used for quick space needs analyses. By entering the unit quantities of specific library inventory items; i.e., two tables for four, a quick space needs analysis can be prepared.
